Crisis management has evolved over a course of iterations giving rise to the concept of business continuity management (BCM). As illustrated by British Standards Institution : BCM is [A] holistic management process that identifies potential threats to an organization and the impacts to business operations that those threats, if realized, might cause, and which provides a framework for building organizational resilience with the capability for an effective response that safeguards the interests of its key stakeholders, reputation, brand and value-creating activities. According to ISO 22301:2012 , BCM system constitutes of the overall management system that establishes, implements, operates, monitors, reviews, maintains and improves business continuity. The adoption of BCM as a system and practise is bound by the liaison between regulatory authorities and organizational networks. Crisis and their outcomes in terms of socio-economic and statutory percussions are strong metrics influencing the emulative adoption of BCM. Regulations and legislations towards certifications and accreditations as good practices which are necessary for an organisation’s legitimacy and acceptance, set strong foundation for the adoption of BCM among organisations, which intent to become resilient and stay connected in the network of organizations.
