Marc-André Kaufhold studierte Wirtschaftsinformatik an der Universität Siegen und ist wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter in der Arbeitsgruppe KONTIKAT (2017-2021, BMBF) am Institut für Wirtschaftsinformatik sowie assoziiertes Mitglied der Graduiertenschule Mittelstand. Er ist weiterhin Doktorand an der Professur Wissenschaft und Technik für Frieden und Sicherheit (PEASEC) am Fachbereich Informatik (FB20) der Technischen Universität Darmstadt und Mitarbeiter im Sonderforschungsbereich 1053 MAKI. Seine Forschungsinteressen umfassen betriebliches und zivilgesellschaftliches Kontinuitätsmanagement, Kriseninformationssysteme und die Unterstützung der behördlichen und bürgerlichen Notfallbewältigung über soziale Medien.
Bereits während seines Studiums konnte er sich als studentischer Mitarbeiter in die Forschungsprojekte InfoStrom (2010-2013, BMBF) und EmerGent (2014-2017, EU) einbringen, wo er maßgeblich an der Entwicklung und Pflege einer kollaborativen Lagekarte und plattformübergreifenden Social Media API beteiligt war. Seine Masterarbeit verfasste er zum Thema „Evaluation des Flow-Konzepts zur Ableitung theoretischer und praktischer Implikationen für die Mensch-Computer-Interaktion“, in der er die Anwendbarkeit, Herausforderungen und Potenziale der Flow-Theorie in im Kontext der Mensch-Computer-Interaktion am Praxisbeispiel der Softwareentwicklung mit Eclipse untersucht hat.
